The Kingdom Discipleship Training School 2021-2022 started in September and is officially half-way through lecture phase! The last two months it's been really cool to see our participants interacting with the lecturers and what they have to say. Watching as they take what they're hearing in the classroom and wrestling with how to live it out in the everyday of community living has been a privilege. They're an incredible group of people and I'm happy to be doing life with them for next wee while. Last week we divided into our outreach teams and spent a week in cities in Northern Ireland doing local outreach. My team went to Belfast, a city I spent a month in and grew to love on my own DTS. There we worked with YWAM Belfast as they serve with Youth Initiative, went on prayer walks around the city, and we had the opportunity to get to know the YWAM Belfast staff team and pray for them as they prepare to run their first DTS in January.

As a base we've been able to start safely reopening to the public. Our weekly worship meeting called Harbour and our monthly Open Mic nights have been made available to the community again and it's nice to welcome everyone back into An Cuan (pronounced On Coo-in). We ran a Harvest Festival in October and have several more events lined up for the rest of the year including a Literary Festival, a pop up restaurant, and a Christmas Fayre.

Video: one of our DTS participants, Naemi, is a talented videographer and made this recap of the Harvest Fest

Some exciting personal news is that I'm moving! My roommate and I have found a flat in the village and have just signed a year's lease. We're about a five minute walk from the base so I'll be able to have a nice wee walk through town as I go into work each day. This'll be the first time I've not lived either at home or in community and I'm excited! I've lived on the YWAM base since I moved to Rostrevor last year and while it's been great, I felt the Lord lead me to find a place to make more my own. A bit of space is always nice, and I'm looking forward to the experience. Financially speaking, living in the village will be more expensive per month than living on the base + there's the normal costs of furnishing a new space. But God has led and has also provided! Friends and family have been so generous in giving money, furniture they no longer need, and their time to help us get settled! We're headed to Ikea this weekend to do grown up things like buy a dresser and some dishes. How thrilling!
